Embassy Ankara Celebrates African American History Month

Embassy Ankara celebrated African American History Month with a night of poetry, prose and music highlighting the contributions of African Americans to the United States. Ambassador Jeffrey opened the evening noting that the pursuit of a more perfect union has made America a better and stronger nation. Free Fall, a local band, performed pop and soul numbers written and inspired by African American musical greats. On display at the reception were slide shows about Historically Black Colleges, African American Quilting and Portraits of African American Greats in Science, Education, Music and Sports.
