Ambassador Ricciardone and Dr. Marie Ricciardone attended the ‘ May 9th Europe Day Concert’ at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Ankara. Following the concert, they visited backstage and congratulated soloist Elina Vahala and concert master Jülide Yalçın Dittgen who is also a Fulbright alumni. In 1994, Julide studied at the New England Music Conservatory in Boston on a Fulbright scholarship. She has received many awards in the U.S., Europe and Turkey; has recorded a CD of Turkish composers; and founded the Turkish Suzuki (violin) Association. The concert was co-sponsored by the Turkish EU Ministry. During intermission at the concert, the Ambassador met with EU Minister Egemen Bağış, EU officials and Ambassadors.
