Fulbright Professor Speaks at Turkish General Staff Conference

Professor George Gawrych

Baylor University Professor George Gawrych spoke at the Turkish General Staff's May 19 conference "Ataturk as a Soldier and Statesman on the 128th Anniversary of his Birth."  His topic was Ataturk as a Military Leader in the War of Independence. Professor Gawrych is in Turkey as a Fulbright Senior Researcher conducting  research for a book on Ataturk as both a political and military leader in the War of Independence. He has presented lectures on his research in Ankara, Istanbul, Erzurum and Kayseri.
