Administrative Processing Status

Administrative Process Status for Immigrant Visa Applicants

If your case number appears below please appear in person with your passport, refusal sheet (OF-194) and the missing items, if any, at the U.S. Embassy, Consular Section in Ankara, on any Monday through Thursday between 13:00 and 13:30, before the expiration date of the administrative process. If your case number is not listed, please check the list every seven days.

The date stated below, next to your case number is NOT a new appointment date. It is the expiration date of your administrative process. We advise you to come to our office at your earliest convenience when your case number is announced below and NOT wait until the expiration date of your administrative process.

IMPORTANT REMINDER REGARDING MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

Medical examinations classified as "Class B (TB)" are valid for 3 months from the date the doctor signed the report. All other medical examinations classified as "No apparent decease or defect" are valid for 6 months after the doctor’s signature date. If your case is subject to further administrative processing, your medical report may expire during the process. In that case, you are required to renew your examination and submit an updated medical report to our office when you come here to receive your immigrant visa. Your visa validity will be limited with the validity of your medical report. If you plan to travel at a later date, you are advised to renew your medical report and get a visa with a longer validity.

When you return our office to receive your visa, please obtain and provide the most recent taxable year’s complete income tax returns from your petitioner and cosponsor (such as 1040 Individual income tax returns, Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statements or Form 1099, Miscellaneous Income).

No visas can be issued under E3 and EW visa categories between May 1, 2009 and October 1, 2009. If you are the beneficiary of an E3 or EW immigrant visa petition and your administrative process will expire before a visa number becomes available for your file on October 1, 2009, please contact our office to request the renewal of your administrative processing.

The list is updated only when additional responses are received. There will be NO UPDATES on the list if no responses are received.

(*) Not all family members have been cleared. Please contact us.

(**) The administrative processing on your file has been completed. However, a visa number may not be available for your file within this month. Please contact us by e-mail before coming to our office.

(***) Iraqi passport holders with serial number starting with "M", "S", "N" must obtain a new "G" series passport. To confirm your status, please contact the Embassy. The visa categories stated below are not subject to this requirement.

  • Spouse of a US citizen (IR-1/CR-1)
  • Unmarried child of a US citizen (IR-2/CR-2, and F-11)
  • Spouses of Legal Permanent Residents (green card holders) (F2-1)
  • Unmarried children of Legal Permanent Residents (green card holders) under 21 years old (F2-1)
  • Parents of US citizens (IR-5)

For Iranian Applicants, when the case number appears, come to the Embassy with the refusal sheet (OF-194) and missing items, if any, before the expiration date of the administrative process on any Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday between 1:30-2:00 p.m. When the visa receives final approval, your passport will be delivered by UPS courier to a local address (in Turkey) within 2-3 working days. In family cases, one family member may come to our office to submit passports for all family members. However, if the medical reports need to be renewed all family members would need to travel to Turkey.

For Turkish applicants, if the case number appears below, please contact the local UPS office in Turkey by calling 444-0033 to courier your refusal sheet (OF-194) and the missing items. If that number does not work, dial 0-312-444-0033. This must be done before the expiration date of the administrative process. If everything is in order, the visa will be delivered to you by UPS. If your application is still missing items, you will receive a refusal sheet (OF-194) telling you what items need to be provided to complete your application. If your case number is not listed, please check the list every seven days. You will pay for one way delivery. UPS will collect the fee for returning of your visa or the refusal sheet (OF-194) at the time of the delivery.

Important Notice

All non-immigrant and immigrant visa applicants (including 'K' visa applicants) may be required to go through an administrative process based upon their biographical and background information.

While most administrative procedures occur prior to the final immigrant visa interview, in some instances additional processing may be required after the interview.

Administrative processes are completed within six months or more. They cannot be expedited and our office does not have any control over them. Applicants should plan their schedules accordingly.

Attention

One member of a family can return to Turkey on behalf of the entire family. The person returning to the Embassy must be one of the Family members receiving a visa.
