Report Birth Abroad

Consular Report of Birth for Iranian Born Children

Mission Turkey will only accept applications for the Consular Report of Birth Abroad for Iranian-born children and forward them to the American Embassy in Bern for final processing.

The American Embassy in Bern has urged us to inform all applicants to apply for CRBAs at the American Interests Section of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran.  Applications made there will save everyone time and CRBAs will be processed by experts familiar with Iranian documentation.

Mission Turkey will continue to accept applications should the American citizen parent(s) be present together with the child in Turkey.  If we accept the application, it will be forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Bern.  The CRBA will take approximately two months to process.

If you still wish to apply in Turkey, please follow the information for Report Birth Abroad. As evidence of the child’s birth abroad, you should bring the child’s shenasname together with a copy and English translation.

Mission Turkey will not be able to accept passport applications until the U.S. Embassy in Bern has authorized the CRBA.
