Administrative Process Status
Administrative Process Status for Immigrant Visa Applicants
Important Notice: All nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applicants (including 'K' visa applicants) may require administrative processing. While most administrative procedures occur prior to the final immigrant visa interview, in some instances additional processing may be required after the interview. They cannot be expedited and our office does not have any control over them. Applicants should plan their schedules accordingly.
As soon as the administrative processing is complete, the case numbers will be announced on our web page at http://www.usemb-ankara.org.tr/consular/english/immigrant_admin_processing.html. This web page is updated every seven days.
For Turkish Applicants:
After your case number appears, you can send your passport, OF-194 refusal sheet and missing documents, if any, to the U.S. Embassy Ankara. You have until the expiration date, announced next to your case number, to send in your passport and documents. Before sending your passport and documents, please visit usvisa-info.com or call 0850 252 6355 from Turkey or (703) 439-2348 from the United States to arrange for delivery of your packet to the Embassy and to select a passport/visa pickup location. Please note that once you register for PTT service, you will have the opportunity to send and receive your documents without paying a fee.
Upon receipt of your packet, we will review your application again and, if everything is in order, your passport and visa packet will be given to PTT courier service within 5 business days for delivery to the PTT branch you have chosen. If your application is still missing items, then you will receive a notice informing you of the additional items needed to complete your application.
For Iranian Applicants:
After you see your case number on our web page, please appear in person with your passport, refusal sheet (OF-194) and the missing items, if any, at the U.S. Embassy Ankara Consular Gate any Monday through Thursday between 10:30am and 12:00. You have until the expiration date, announced next to your case number, to return for your visa. Before coming to the Embassy, please make sure to select a passport/visa pickup location either through usvisa-info.com or by calling 0850 252 6355 from Turkey or (703) 439-2348 from the United States.
After your personal appearance, we will review your application again and if everything is in order, your passport and visa packet will be given to PTT courier service within 5 business days for delivery to the PTT branch you have chosen previously. If your application is still missing items, then you will receive a notice informing you of the additional items needed to complete your application. One member of a family can return to Turkey on behalf of the entire family. The person returning to the Embassy must be one of the family members receiving a visa.
The date stated next to your case number is NOT a new appointment date. It is the expiration date of your administrative process. We advise you to come (or send your documents, if you are a Turkish citizen) to our office at your earliest convenience when your case number is announced below and not to wait until the expiration date of your administrative process.

Important Reminder Regarding Medical Examinations
Medical examinations classified as "Class B (TB)" are valid for 3 months from the date the doctor signed the report. All other medical examinations classified as "No apparent disease or defect” are valid for 6 months after the doctor’s signature date. If your case is subject to further administrative processing, your medical report may expire during the process. In that case, you are required to renew your examination and submit an updated medical report to our office when you come here to receive your immigrant visa. Your visa validity will be limited with the validity of your medical report. If you plan to travel at a later date, you are advised to renew your medical report and get a visa with a longer validity period.
NOTE: When you return our office to receive your visa, please obtain and provide the most recent taxable year’s complete income tax returns from your petitioner and co-sponsor (such as 1040 Individual income tax returns, Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statements or Form 1099, Miscellaneous Income).
Important Notice for DV Applicants
Please note that we will not be able to issue Diversity Visas after the DV-2014 season ends on September 30th or when the annual numerical limitations for the program have been reached. We strongly discourage applicants from making any permanent plans or financial commitments before holding their passports with the issued visas in their hands.
