Sean Nowell & The Kung-Fu Masters in Turkey

Organized as part of the 23rd Akbank Jazz Festival, the "Jazz on Campus" concerts continue to bring the joy of jazz music to young people at universities in various provinces of Turkey. American jazz/funk band Sean Nowell & The Kung-Fu Masters is among the famous jazz artists participating in the concerts series which will take place on November 4-19th this year. Inspired by 70's kung-fu movies, anime, and comic books; the band will give an unforgettable auditory and visual feast to audience with their high energy and blazing effects. This project, formed in NYC, has featured some of the most progressive and adventuresome musicians in the world. Ercüment Orkut, Art Hirahara, Alper Yılmaz, and Marko Djordevic will accompany to Sean Nowell’s concert performances in his tour of Turkey.

*Sean Nowell is a tenor saxophonist and composer artist who grew up in the South American traditions of blues, gospel, jazz and funk. As the musical director of the "Bond Street Theater", he performed with dancers, actors, painters, stilt walkers, and acrobats on tours around the globe. He participated in efforts to unite religious and ethnic groups in conflict through music and theater in Kosovo, and also toured Turkey as an Artistic Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State. Incorporating the authentic experience gained through his social and artistic exchange with local artists, he aims to go beyond social and political borders to spread goodness, truth, and brotherhood among people through jazz music.
