The Opportunity Initiative Program
The Opportunity Initiative Program has officially started for Turkey
The Opportunity Initiative-Turkey program involves the funding of Turkish students at any academic level up to 10,000 USD per student. The aim is to help talented students of modest means with the application expenses to US universities. This funding can be used for any/some/all of the following: Test preparation classes, test fees, application fees, postage expenses, visa fees, travel to the US, settling in allowance and tuition supplements.

Students simply fill out the one page application form and send the filled form to either of the two Fulbright offices, TAA or TAUA – our satellite centers in Ankara and Istanbul respectively. Once Fulbright advisers receive the form from students or from our colleagues at our satellite centers, applications will be evaluated. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. We encourage any and all students interested in studying in the US who are in need of financial assistance to apply for OI funds, keeping in mind it is a different program than the Fulbright programs, and that students can apply as many times as they like.
