US Embassy Statement

Ankara, July 21, 2006

American citizens who are being evacuated from Lebanon will be transiting Turkey as they return to the US over the next several days.  We are deeply grateful to the Government of Turkey, the Turkish military and the authorities in Mersin for the outstanding assistance they are providing in facilitating this process.  The Embassy expresses its appreciation to Turkey on behalf of all Americans.
