12 Giant Men Basketball Tour

The U.S. Mission in Turkey is proud to support the 2008 12 Giant Men Basketball Tour by bringing a U.S. basketball coach to Turkey to train and educate young people taking part in the tour, August 12-21. The 12 Giant Men Tour, organized by the Turkish Basketball Federation and sponsored by Garanti Bank, aims to improve the skills and knowledge of young basketball players throughout Anatolia. Nearly 25,000 kids have taken part in the 12 Giant Men project since 2002.
U.S. coach Kaniela Aiona will travel to 10 cities throughout Anatolia to conduct training camps and seminars for the Giant Men participants. He will work with a Turkish basketball coach to provide training and education in physical training, sports management and other topics. The seminars will also be open to the public.
