The US Does Not Support the PKK in Any Way

September 11, 2007, Ankara

The United States regards the PKK as a terrorist organization.  We do not supply the PKK with weapons, transport, or anything else; we are not in discussions with the PKK about Iran or any other subject; and we do not meet with its personnel.

On the contrary, we are working to oppose PKK terrorism and to isolate the organization and its leaders in northern Iraq and Europe.

Reports to the contrary are fabrications and have no basis in fact. They are designed to drive a wedge between two allies, the United States and Turkey.
