US Embassy Ankara Launches Its Page on Facebook

The US Embassy in Ankara is pleased to announce the launch of a new community Facebook page. The Ankara Facebook page can be reached “live” at www.facebook.com/usdos.turkey.
The page will provide a variety of topical resources of interest to students, business people and those interested in promoting ties between the United States and Turkey. To launch the site, the Embassy is inviting Facebook “fans” to compete in a “Best American Moments” photography contest. Students who have studied or participated in an educational exchange between the US and Turkey within the last five years are invited to share one best photo with the Facebook anytime through October 31. One entry per person, along with a short paragraph should be emailed to studentphotocontest@gmail.com. Top photographs will be announced and posted on this FB page on November 16, 2009.
The US Embassy Ankara facebook page will also be a source of information about media, cultural and educational events sponsored by the US Embassy in Ankara. Facebook friends and community will have the opportunity to reach out to one another as well as the Embassy with questions and concerns.
