U.S. Generals Cartwright and Petraeus Visit Ankara

Vice Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, General James Cartwright, and Multinational Force in Iraq (MNF-I) Commander, General David Petraeus, met with General Ergun Saygun, Deputy Chief of the Turkish General Staff today at TGS headquarters in Ankara.  The meeting was a follow-up to the November 5 meeting between President Bush and Prime Minister Erdogan in Washington.  The three discussed critical issues of mutual concern including Iraq, continued cooperation in the struggle to defeat our mutual enemy the PKK and enhanced intelligence sharing.
