STEP 2: Pay the NonImmigrant Visa Machine Readable Visa Application Fee

There is a non-immigrant visa machine-readable visa application fee, which is payable at any Fortis branch. The bank will give you a receipt for your payment, and you must include the receipt as part of your application. This is an application fee; it is not refunded if you do not receive a visa.

Effective January 1, 2008, the application fee for a nonimmigrant visa to the United States of America increased from $100 to $131. This is the first increase in the fees for U.S. non-immigrant visas since 2002. It is necessary because of new security-related costs, new information technology systems, and inflation.
