Non-Immigrant Visa Application Form (DS-160)
All travelers applying in Turkey for U.S. nonimmigrant visas must submit the new online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application Form (DS-160) via the internet at least two business days before their visa interview.
After completing and submitting the DS-160, applicants will receive instructions to print a confirmation page that includes biographical information and a bar code with confirmation number. Each applicant must bring the confirmation page for their application in order to be admitted to the Consular Section on the day of their visa appointment. It is very important that nonimmigrant visa applicants classify themselves in the proper visa categories and pay the proper fees. Applicants who do not do so correctly will be required to make a second appointment via calling Visa Information Service (Call center). Regrettably, we are unable to interview applicants who have incorrectly classified themselves on the same day.

Important Notice:
You may encounter error messages and problems while completing and
submitting the electronic nonimmigrant visa form application (DS-160)
due to a worldwide computer problem. Until it is resolved, please read the guidance below carefully before starting to complete the form.
New Questions:
If you started your DS-160 before June 25 but did not submit it yet, you will be prompted to answer the new, additional questions, regarding purpose and payment for travel even if your form showed as “complete” previously. Some new questions apply to all applicants, and others only in certain categories.
Retrieving an Application without the Application ID (Barcode Number):
A new feature of the DS-160—the ability to retrieve an application by entering biodata and answering a security question without entering an Application ID—is not working at present. If you click on the link that says “Forgot your Application ID?” (screenshot below), you will receive an error message that says “No matching ID found.” For the time being, you must have your Application ID to retrieve and continue your application.
Retrieving an Application if Surname is Fewer than Five Letters:
To retrieve an application after entering an Application ID, one of the required data fields is “First Five Letters of Surname.” If your surname is shorter than five letters, you can retrieve your DS-160 submissions by simply entering your surname. If it is longer, you must enter only the first five letter. You must have your Applicant IDs to do so.
Workaround for Applicants Who Started an Application Before June 25 and Cannot Retrieve It:
You need to start a new DS-160 if you continue to experience problems retrieving your application you started before June 25.
