THE CONSULAR AGENCY IN IZMIR WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN DATES OF OCTOBER 12, 2006 - FEBRUARY 4, 2007.
The Consular Agency in Izmir provides services related to passport and report of birth applications, registrations, notaries and emergency assistance.
The Consular Agency will be closed to the public between dates of October 12, 2006 through February 4, 2007. Normal business will resume on February 5, 2007. If you have an emergency during this time you can reach consular officials by calling the Embassy switchboard at 312-455-5555.
In order to better serve American citizens during this period, a Consular Officer will be in the Agency on November 20 and 21, 2006 to accept passport and birth report applications and notarize documents. To obtain appointments for these two days please call (312)468-6106. (If you call Izmir Agency’s number, you will be automatically forwarded to American Citizen Services in Ankara.)
Visa services, including forms and information, are not available at the Consular Agency. Information and visa application forms are available on the Embassy website at Ankara.usembassy.gov. Visa applicants should continue calling 212-340-4444 to receive information and schedule an appointment for a visa interview in Ankara or Istanbul.
